Mall Kiosk Cost Guide

How much does a mall kiosk cost?

A straight answer from the factory that builds them: why there is no price list, what actually moves the number, and how to get an accurate, itemized quote.

The short answer

It depends on what the kiosk sells, and here is exactly why

There is no single price for a custom mall kiosk. Two kiosks with the same footprint can differ widely in cost because the materials, coatings, glass, lighting, and certification they need are different.

A fragrance kiosk needs tempered glass, lockable storage, and surfaces that resist perfume and alcohol. A food or beverage kiosk needs food-contact-safe surfaces, equipment openings, and utility access. A kiosk for outdoor use needs corrosion-resistant materials chosen for the local climate. Each of those choices changes the price, so we quote every kiosk from its own design.

Cost Drivers

What sets the price of a custom mall kiosk

These eight decisions account for most of the difference between one kiosk quote and another.

Footprint and format

Island, corner, and inline kiosks use different amounts of structure. A larger footprint, a canopy, or a curved roof adds material and fabrication time.

Structure and core materials

Painted MDF and plywood, powder-coated steel, and high-strength stainless steel carry different costs and suit different traffic levels and lifespans.

Surfaces and coatings

Food-contact-safe tops, cosmetic- and alcohol-resistant finishes, high-wear laminates, solid surface, and colour-matched paint are priced differently. What the kiosk sells decides what it must be made of.

Glass, display, and security

Tempered glass showcases, lockable storage, tester counters, and adjustable shelving add parts, hardware, and assembly time.

Lighting, signage, and electrical

LED lightboxes, illuminated logos, and display lighting are wired at the factory. Components certified to UL, ETL, or CSA requirements for North American malls cost more than uncertified parts.

Indoor or outdoor use

Outdoor and semi-outdoor kiosks need materials and finishes selected against rust, UV, and moisture for the specific location, which costs more than an indoor build.

Design and drawings

Layout, 3D renders, and landlord submission drawings are part of the project. Three revision rounds are included; additional rounds are charged.

Quantity and rollouts

Once the first kiosk is approved, repeating the same drawings, materials, and packing for more locations lowers the cost of each additional unit.

Full Budget

Budget for more than the kiosk

The kiosk quotation is only part of the cost of opening. A complete budget should also account for:

  • The kiosk itself: design, fabrication, lighting, factory pre-assembly, and export packing
  • Sea freight and cargo insurance from the factory to your port
  • Import duties, customs brokerage, and delivery from the port to the mall
  • Installation labour on site, or your local installers plus our engineer's on-site guidance
  • Mall-side costs such as landlord or construction fees, permits, and the final electrical connection by a licensed electrician

Payment Schedule

How payment works

30% · Deposit to start design

The design stage starts once the 30% deposit is received. This covers layout, 3D renders, and drawings, including up to three rounds of revisions.

60% · Before production (90% paid)

When the final design is approved, a further 60% is paid and the project is booked into production. The design is locked from this point.

Check · Factory pre-assembly review

The kiosk or fixtures are assembled in our factory so you can see the real finished result before anything is packed and shipped.

10% · Balance on arrival

The final 10% is due when the shipment arrives in your destination country.

Keep Costs Under Control

Five ways to avoid paying more than you need to

Tell us what the kiosk will sell, first

Product type decides the materials. Knowing it at the start avoids over-specifying surfaces you do not need, or redesigning later.

Send the mall guidelines with your brief

Height limits, signage rules, and fire-rating requirements that surface after landlord review can force a redesign. Designing to them from day one avoids that cost.

Use the three included design rounds fully

Resolve details while changes are free. After the order is confirmed the design is locked, and changes are re-priced.

Start early

Allow at least 75 days, ideally about four months. Rush production from about 50 days is possible but costs more, narrows material choices, and leaves no room for landlord comments.

Plan rollouts as one design

If more locations are likely, say so. A kiosk designed to repeat across different footprints is cheaper per unit than several one-off designs.

FAQ

Mall kiosk cost questions

How much does a mall kiosk cost?

There is no fixed price list, because every kiosk is quoted from its own design. The cost depends on size, structure, surface materials and coatings (for example food-contact or cosmetic-resistant surfaces), glass and security, lighting and electrical certification, indoor or outdoor use, and quantity.

Why don't you publish a kiosk price list?

Because a price list would be wrong for most buyers. The same footprint can be built for fragrance, food, or outdoor use, and each needs different materials, coatings, glass, and electrical parts. We quote from your design so the number reflects the kiosk you will actually open with.

What is included in your kiosk quotation?

The quotation covers design and drawings, fabrication, factory-wired lighting and signage, factory pre-assembly, and export packing, itemized so you can see what drives the price. Freight, installation, and engineer site guidance can be quoted alongside it when you need them.

What is the payment schedule for a custom kiosk?

Our standard payment schedule is 30% deposit to start design, a further 60% (90% in total) before production starts, and the final 10% when the shipment arrives in your destination country. Before shipping, we assemble the order in the factory so you can see the real result.

How many design revisions are included?

Three rounds of design revisions are included free of charge; additional rounds are charged per round. Once the order is confirmed the design is locked, and any change requested after that is re-priced before it goes ahead.

What warranty comes with the kiosk?

Our custom kiosks and fixtures typically carry a 10-year warranty for indoor use. Many builds use high-strength stainless steel and quality timber, and for outdoor use we select corrosion-resistant materials based on your location and local climate. Final warranty terms are confirmed in each quotation.

Are the kiosk's electrical components UL, ETL, or CSA listed?

Yes. We can supply lighting and electrical components to UL, ETL, or CSA requirements for the United States and Canada, and to European requirements for EU projects. Tell us the destination and any mall or inspector requirements at the quotation stage so the right components are specified.

Does the kiosk ship assembled?

Kiosks and fixtures ship knocked down (flat-packed) in protected modules, not fully assembled. Every order includes a detailed English installation manual and guidance, and each module is labelled so the kiosk goes back together in the right order.

Who installs the kiosk in the US and Canada?

Our own installation team can install anywhere in Canada; projects in the Greater Toronto Area, where the team is based, are the simplest and usually cost less to install. In the United States we do not have an installation crew: you hire local installers, and we can send one of our engineers to guide them on site. The engineer supervises and answers technical questions but does not carry out the physical work.

How far ahead should I order?

Plan for at least 75 days for a custom mall kiosk or fixture project, and start about four months before your opening if you can. Rush production from about 50 days is possible at a higher cost. The 75-day standard minimum assumes quick design approval and an open factory schedule; landlord review, extra design rounds, and busy production periods all add time.

Get an accurate kiosk quote

Send these five things and we can price the kiosk properly the first time:

  • What the kiosk will sell (fragrance, cosmetics, food and beverage, accessories, electronics)
  • Mall name, leased footprint, and the mall's design guidelines
  • Indoor or outdoor location, and the city it will be installed in
  • Brand references, logo, colours, and any renders or sketches you already have
  • Number of locations and the date the kiosk must be installed
